Information we collect

When you submit a report, we collect the reported username, the platform involved, a written description, any written evidence or context you provide, and your emotional state if you choose to share it. If you provide contact information, such as a reporter username or email address, we collect that as well. SafetyPoint does not accept file, image, or video uploads — only written information and links you provide as text.

We also collect limited technical and security information, such as a hashed version of your IP address, to help operate the service securely.

For staff members, we collect account and authentication information, session details, and security-event records such as login and MFA activity. Internal notes, ticket records, audit records, and email correspondence related to reports may also be stored where applicable.

Why we process this information

We use this information to review and act on reports, operate and secure the service, prevent abuse, communicate with reporters about their case, and make appropriate referrals when warranted.

Access controls

Access to report information is role-based. Staff can only see information and take actions permitted by their assigned role and permissions.

Encryption

Sensitive report text is protected using field-level encryption within our systems.

Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to review and resolve a case, meet legal obligations, and maintain accurate records, after which it may be deleted or de-identified in line with our internal practices.

Disclosure

We may need to disclose information in response to a lawful request, or as part of an appropriate referral to another organization or authority when warranted. We do not claim that information can never be disclosed.

Service providers

We may rely on third-party service providers to help operate parts of the service, such as sending emails, under appropriate safeguards.

Cookies and sessions

SafetyPoint uses a session cookie for staff authentication and security purposes. This cookie is required for the dashboard to function and is not used for advertising.

Your choices

You may choose what information to include in a report. If you have questions about your information, you can reach SafetyPoint through the channels listed on our homepage.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version in effect will be reflected on this page when available.
